My Nieces Are on the Plane

coming to France

Ten years ago before my Father died I was home by his side for several months. During that very sad time, I was able to spend time with my nieces. I got to know them in a way that I would never have if my Father had not been ill.

I told them that when I turned sixty I would invite them to France.

Gina 19, Marie, 19, Maci 17, Molly 14, and Kate 12 are on their way to France as I type.

My sister in law Shelley and my nieces sent me these photos.

We have been snapping like crazy these last few days.

Because they are flying overseas alone for the first time.

I told them they could only bring a carry-on and a backpack.

Because how would I manage to keep us and everything together otherwise?

As it has been raining I mentioned packing a portable umbrella.

My mom gave each of them something to carry… but that is a secret to be revealed later.

I will meet them at the airport in Paris tomorrow morning.

Then we will head to Provence for a week, and then back to Paris for the second week.

I do not know who is more excited.

The nieces will not be here for Chelsea's and Martin's wedding as I bought their tickets before Chelsea and Martin announced that they were getting married. They are okay with that. And we will spend time with Chelsea over these next two weeks.

All is good.

They are off!

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers for a safe and uneventful flight that in eleven hours they will be by my side!

I am nearly as excited as you and the girls. Are you doing a longest hair photo shoot in Paris? It is wonderful to have read about them as much younger girls and now see them in a dream come true scenario. Have a blast ladies!

  16. Oh how wonderful, for them and for you!
I remember them, so much younger.
And your “Long Hair Challenge,” to keep them from cutting their hair. 🙂
Think it is better, that their visit, is separate from the wedding time. This way, you can concentrate on them. And there can be relaxed family interaction.
    Enjoy!
    Gentle hugs,
