Oh My

Countdown.

Chelsea is getting a cold.

The hairdresser who was to cut Martin's hair didn't show.

My brothers Marty and his family and Sacha and my nephew Sam are on the plane heading to France, they arrive tomorrow.

A rollercoaster of thoughts mostly between being calm and then not so calm, and then calm again.

I wish I had a cook for the next few days.

My mom is a force of incredible goodness and ideas.

Having a long distance wedding I realized that one must also be a tour agent.

The larger potted plants arrived today. Our courtyard looks lush

Even though there is an experience wedding caterer I am worried that there won't be enough to eat.

  1. hang in there Mom and don’t forget to enjoy the moment – magical times that won’t come again – and of course everything will beautiful in the end. And of course something will go wrong – but it won’t matter. Big love all around!

  2. Things always work out. Plenty of time for Chelsea to get over her cold, Martin to get a haircut, the chaotic many details will fall into place. Remember your family is there and eager to help..just ask! Take some time to sit down, (no cell phone or notepad within your reach) and visit with your family. xx.

  3. Breathe! Hope Chelsea gets better quickly. Breathe! It will all work out in the end and there might be a story or two to tell, but love will be all that counts. Breathe! Love sent to you all.

  4. Deep breath….
    Exhale….
    Repeat….
    🙂

Just enjoy every second. Find humor in the stuff that happens or doesn’t happen and keep calm and carry on.

  6. It will be perfect. They are in love… They already had the civil ceremony, so this is a slam dunk. Relax and know that He will work it all out for good. Safe travels for all those yet took arrive.

1000 years ago I worked along side with a wedding planner. What I can tell you is there are two kinds of weddings, the one where people focus on the *wedding*, and the other where people focus on the families uniting.
I remember my niece’s wedding with TWO receptions. Every detail was set in place so that families in two different locations could celebrate a union. The 1st reception had to be moved due to ducks. During the wedding ducks landed in the reception area and began to mate! So all those gorgeous flowers and tables were left -literally weeks, until the ducks had babies and moved on! A make shift party was had at a home and no one seemed to notice at all. the 2nd reception welcomed guests with wilted flowers that had bloomed too early and had to be removed, a cake that had flipped in transit and was inedible, and a room that had a broken air unit and stifling hot. Again, no one cared, they opened as many doors as possible, and danced like crazy people.
I have read you since almost the very beginning. If it is one thing that has come across post after post is the idea of family. This wedding will be fine, and memorable, and everything it is meant to be. Sniffles, long hair, late comers, and lack of food will all work themselves out. Next month you will look through the photos of this special day and wonder why you were so concerned. She will be beautiful, He will be handsome, and together they will join these two families together in the world, making it a more loving place for all of us to live.

Remember the love bubble…let it grow!

  10. All will be well.

  11. Thinking of you. My daughter just celebrated her anniversary yesterday. She had an outdoor wedding, record breaking heat. 106 degrees! Air conditioner broke in my car, burned my dress jacket with an iron, person bringing flowers had a flat! The list goes on! All worked out even though it was a bit stressful at the moment (6 years ago). It is difficult to not have your mind darting in a million different directions, but if anyone can enjoy the moment, it is YOU! It will be beautiful! Hugs.xo

  12. Don’t worry. It will all turn out perfect. It always does. Think of all of the weddings you have attended. They were gorgeous and perfect. Right? Chelsea’s will be as well. No one ever remembers the glitches. Enjoy!

  13. Relax and enjoy, it all works out.

  14. Maybe a bit of Vit. C for Chelsea will counter the cold. When my relatives visit from the UK, I give them the keys to a car. They love a bit of travel on their own, always supplemented with time with me. I can relate to the food concerns. That said, I always have to much food and people take some home. It is always hard to gauge food needs.

  15. it reminds me to my own wedding. groom and groomsman sick. But took place
otherwise it would be the 3rd try. Haha and yes it is true and still married
for 38 years. And if you don’t have enough food, don’t worry…Champagne is
everywhere at any time in France.

What a wonderful, crazy week this is. Enjoy the chaos and love. Hope Chelsea can nip her cold quickly. xoxo

  17. Corey, so many wonderful comments above. They and you always stress family connections. Share the cooking. I know there are great cooks in your family. My kids who love to grill just left to go back to Pittsburgh. We had a wonderful time sharing meals and laughter, so will you. The wedding plans have all been carefully made, now step back and watch this joyous event unroll. Breathe.

  18. Best wishes! When guests arrive before an event begins. it’s hard to think of all those details that need to get done and take care of your guests too. The wedding will be lovely no matter what! Enjoy!

Everything and everybody will be just fine…breathe, take a rest, breathe, one little task at a time and it will be fantastic, perfect and another beautiful family memory.
Holding you in love and light as you travel through these next days of preparation for this most wonderful family occasion.

  21. Our collective love for your family will hold everything together….
As everyone above said, breath in….breath out….repeat….
