After the marriage at Saint Maximin Basilica, we went to Chateau Roquefeuille for the reception. We had the aperitif poolside surround by the vineyards with a panoramic view of Saint Victorie and Saint Baume. The aperitif and sit down dinner was catered by Fleur de Sel
From the aperitif, we went inside the winery transformed into a reception hall, with its cathedral ceiling and flanked by stone walls. As the reception hall was gigantic in the scale nearly three floors high so we set the tables in three long rows, the two outer tables were the full length of the reception hall and the tables in the middle were in the middle half. We did not have a head table per say, instead opted to have their table in the middle of the long row next to the stone wall.
The guests, the wedding party (not including the bride and groom), and the family entered the reception hall then we closed the entrance curtains. Dance music pre-selected by Martin was playing, as planned everyone started dancing at the far end of the entrance and in front of the long tables. The wedding party passed out sparklers and then the lights were turned down, the DJ announced Chelsea and Martin, the sparklers were lit, the curtains pulled back and Chelsea and Martin walked in with great energy on either side of the long row of tables walking to the front where we were dancing in a big circle. The energy was electrifying! Pulsating enormous tangible joy! They danced. At one point in sheer bliss, Martin lifted Chelsea and spun around the circle of love encompassed them.
Looking back on these photos I am reminded of the people we love gathered and their smiling faces tell me I was not dreaming how incredible this moment was.
We continued to dance, for about thirty to forty minutes before dinner was served.
Do you see Yann standing on a chair in the background?
I felt like a cheerleader it was just too much to contain.
