India,

Before Yann left for two weeks in India, I asked him to send some photos back.

Well, he did and without text. Some are easy to figure out, others well, you will see below.

I spoke with Yann yesterday he said, "India is AMAZING. It is incredibly different than anything

I have ever seen. He said ever one of his senses was on overload.

  4. Corey, you’ve had some great/interesting posts over the years. This is definitely one of them. Beautiful + intriguing country. That is some creative electric wiring. I’ll bet the food is good.

  5. What an awesome experience, total immersion!!
    Terrific photos!

  6. it’s not difficult to fall in love with that colourful, versatile
and interesting country. Either you love it or you reject it…I myself are
totally in love with India and understand Yann’s excitement

  7. These wonderful photos bring back memories of backpacking in India for 6 wks. in 1974…when a roof top string bed (no matress) cost US $2/night…you got a couple of complimentary buckets of cold water in a “rustic” cubicle, to pour over yourself for a shower. I was 29 and it was a great adventure.

Is he making bread? What’s in those vats? Does he have a blog? We need more pix and some words. This is exciting. I love it when I go on a trip with you guys!

I think he’s making naan. Third from the bottom is the Red Fort in New Delhi. It was where Shah Jehan and Moontaz lived. When Moontaz died, her husband built the Taj Mahal for her. In the Red Fort there are carved panels of flowers – Moontaz loved flowers. In the Taj, there are also carved panels of flowers – but the flowers are wilted. India is a beautiful country, lovely people and amazing food. I think he’s having a wonderful time.

Yann looks and sounds like he is relishing his time in India. Flying away from my first visit to India, I wrote in my journal the same three comments that he made to you about India and his response to it. I hope to spend my next visit there in the Himalayan foothills and Rajasthan. Where is Yann going in India, beyond Delhi? Were you tempted to travel with him on this first visit? Thank you for posting these photographs, Leslie
P.S. The jumble of wires over the street in the second photograph reminds me of a photograph that Chelsea posted from Bangladesh.

Thank you Yann for sharing these photos. I took a guided tour of northern India two years ago & visited these same sights/ sites in India! This post brings back the memories of that incredible time. Yann will experience India on a more intimate level as he is on a motorcycle rather than a bus.
in the photo where Yann is rolling the dough, he is at a major holy place – I seem to remember that it is Sikh. People come to help prepare a daily meal for hundreds of others. Anyone may come to help and/ or eat. I rolled the dough in the very same place. The vats hold a soup/ stew for the meal.
The second photo may be the oldest section of Delhi – which we visited via bicycle rickshaw. Yann will have so many wonderful memories to share with you all.
