I received an email from Assemblyman Gallagher on how to aid the victims of the #Campfire in Paradise:
Words cannot describe the pain our North State families are feeling. If you or someone you know lost a loved one or in any way has suffered as a result of the Camp Fire – I send my deepest condolences.
There will time in the weeks and months ahead to dive deeper into needed policy reforms and other issues. Today, I wanted to share with you important resources and information.
Here are the most critical steps that I encourage anyone impacted by the Camp Fire to take:
1) If you have insurance, talk to your insurance company. Do not delay in reaching out. To read the top ten tips for wildfire claimants, click here.
2) Visit the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC). The DRC provides resources needed to recover and rebuild. Local, state, and federal agencies along with community organizations are there to answer questions about disaster assistance. The DRC is located in the Chico Mall (Former Sears building) – 1982 E 20th St, Chico, CA 95928. The DRC is open from 9:00am to 7:00pm, daily. For more information, click here.
3) Register with FEMA for federal disaster assistance. To register, go online to DisasterAssistance.gov or call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362. Help is available in most languages and phone lines are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
4) Finding loved ones. Loved ones may be looking for you. If you are safe, please register on the Red Cross Safe & Well website by clicking here. The Butte County Sheriff's Office has established a Missing Persons Call Center. If you have located a missing person that you previously reported, please call to report that as well. Missing Person Call Center Phone Numbers: 530.538.7544 / 530.538.7671 / 530.538.6570. For more information, click here.
