  1. Why did I choose “Hurry”? Because life is short, and I still have so much I want to finish.

  2. Love this question. Words are powerful. We can speak life or we can speak death. Why not speak life into other lives and our own.
    Cherry’s word is INCREDIBLE

  3. Mine is Peace.
    Peace, within.
    Peaceful. Not striving.
Peace in spite of the concerns that swirl around me.
And if the opportunity arises, a peace-maker.
I love reading your family’s words, and your readers.
My word last year was trust, and it was very helpful, each step of the way.

  4. Mine is Trust, not something I do well.

  8. Hi Susan,
Not striving as in not pushing forward, but letting things take their course and having peace with it?

  9. I know, choosing one is tough, I do not think we have to stick to rules such as these 🙂

  10. Your post and the comments captivated my thoughts. Last summer I closed my last transaction and so I am retired – shock to my system… Who am I… the more overwhelmed I felt the more I realized I must explore. Explore the local public art, restaurants, places of interest I’ve put off visiting, explore books that center on different themes and settings then my ‘go to’ authors, explore new skills, explore various cuisines I’ve never tasted, explore my family history, take a few classes, explore outdoor activities like fishing and visiting the state’s 100 famous trees. Through all this exploring I hope to explore myself. In the last 2 years all my friends have died, so now what – I want to fashion a meaningful life – In 3 weeks I will be 86, it is time to have a plan… my word for 2019 is Explore.

  11. Rachel Schindler

I don’t do resolutions or words for the coming year, I know myself to well and know I will fail. I try to live one day at a time, which is easier said then done. But one thing that I started a few months ago, was gratitude and will continue in the new year. I go through the day giving gratitude to God for everything, even the smallest things. It has changed my life! Another thing I have changed is doing what Mother Teresa said, “Do what is in front of you”. Life changing and so freeing. I love your design work and can’t wait to see what you do with your friends new/old place. Happy New Year!!!

  12. Love this.

  13. My word would be TODAY.
