Another Piece of Furniture Going up and Through the Window

IMG_8402

After three years of looking for the right armoire or chest of drawers for our place in Cassis one that was not too high, nor too wide, or too deep, I found one. Nevertheless, even though it was perfect it was going to be a challenge getting it into our place.

Hence the window to the rescue!

Can’t wait to see it. I’m most excited to see the style because the Cassis apt is more modern than your usual style. (I loved watching the style evolution.) Did you have to get permission from the city to put the armoire through your window? Did you have to take out the whole window or did it fit through?

I love it not too deep, high or wide! Goldilocks found the perfect armoire!! When the piece is right it’s right. I once carried a Lloyds Loom chair upside down on my lap from Wales to the Cotswolds! And a garden statue on the plane from England to Dublin. Where there’s a will there’s a way. And if there isn’t a place to put something I will find one. Xx

  3. Ah, teamwork!

  4. Great pictures. I’m guessing it was not one of the collapsible armoires. Looks like it was a farily close fit through the window too!

  5. Just incredible! Are they standing on the restaurant awning?

  6. We had to do the same in our village house in the Languedoc – I’ll never forget our handyman and Kirk hauling a water heater from our courtyard all the way up through the top floor windows! No way to get it up the spiral staircase inside! Quite the adventure…

  7. We did not need permission to put it through the window, nor did we need to take the window frame out. Still counting my lucky stars.

  8. Wow a Lloyd Loom chair! Did you take a photo? And a garden statue on a plane! You have the brocante bug!

  9. Yes!!!! We put boards down between the beams.

  10. Thank you for your nice post. keep it up.

  11. That is exciting when you find just the right piece. Now I can’t wait to see it in place.

  12. Thank goodness for Chez Gilbert’s roof!

  13. All this requires so much man power. Hats off to these people carrying out task so professionally!
