Violets the Bravest Flower

Violets

Violets.

The bravest little flower

dares to bloom before spring announces itself

Receives a white winter coat and a heavy tiara of raindrop diamonds,

Blooming purple with a note of glee.

Here I am, such a tender little flower reminding me of faithfulness against the odds, courage with grace.

What is your favorite flower?

Corey, you’re making me cry. My parents wed in a March, and my father gave my mother violets then. He gave her violets every year thereafter on their anniversary till death did them part.

So many lovely memories from the prior posts… sweet peas at my Grandma’s house, the iris growing in the sun beside dad’s garage, and picking sooo many violets by the creek. I love them all and more. Thanks for the memories, Corey.

Oooooh, I have so many but I especially love Violets (memories of my childhood); Sweet Peas (remind me of my mother-and they smell divine), Lily of the valley grow around where my husband is buried (I dug up a few and brought them home with me-now I have a whole flower bed of them). And of course, my Roses!
Your scrapbook jar is so precious!! I love it and am going to make one (?😊) of my own. I have some scraps/small remembrances that just get tucked away and this is a perfect way of displaying them! Love your blog, Corey!

  14. It is so hard to pick a favorite when I just love all flowers. In springtime I must say daffodils, but in summer it is roses. Love those little violets too. I just noticed yesterday my violets are just beginning to appear above ground. It will be awhile before I see beautiful blooms, but the daffodils are in full splendor this very moment.
