What did you do Today?

IMG_3204

Today was my first day back to the brocante since the end of June when there was a French la Vie.

One-handed but I managed with Yann's help. Do you know that Yann started to help me at the brocante when I broke my wrist six years ago.

I found many fantastic things, but I saw much more than I could buy.

What did you do today?

  1. I’m polishing 9 (nine!) essays I long ago translated, then recently revised for publication, finally. Dull, dull, dull…

  2. P.S. They’re a set by the same author, one for each island in the Azores.

  3. We took Rover to the dog park for the first time. He loved it! He ran up to all the dogs and owners. He wanted to meet and play with everyone!

  4. You must be glad to be back at the brocant! We kayaked and then went to dinner where my husband was playing in a blues band. We’re on Cape Cod.

Baked a fresh red plum and rhubarb crostata. Took it over to a friend’s house for a treat while we played “Pennies From Heaven” a form of canasta.

  6. Vicki’s crostata sounded devine!
Today I went to a huge charity book sale and didn’t get past the cookbooks…found some treasures, chatted with like-minded ladies..who reccommended this recipe or that in such and such a cook book, and I did same in turn.
Glad to hear you are back to brocant(ing).

  7. Nothing as exciting as the brocantes. Mr. T and I have just moved from the middle of no where Nevada to civilization just outside of Reno. Hence, we are spending all our days unpacking and organizing. Hard work, but still a bit exciting. We’re looking forward to being closer to our kids and grand babies, a good airport, medical care and – commerce!!! I am hoping to find some fleeing around here. 😜😜😜

  8. I enjoyed a meal in the gardenhouse with family sitting around the table.

Sounds interesting! Let me know when they are published and I will look for them. My email is victoriaperkinsstudio@yahoo.com.

  10. I made 23 jars of spiced fruit chutney using apples and tomatoes from my garden and pears from the neighbour’s.

I went to the monthly brocante in my village. I bought a very nice antique collapsible top hat, a Christofle art deco teapot, a few other silver plated items, six vintage absinthe or water glasses, and two very nice vintage wine glasses. Sunday is almost always “brocante day.”

I am purging as we prepare for the next stage of life – downsizing! Wondering where the next chapter will take us, France??? In my dreams.
