 These photos don’t do justice
to the biggest cherry I have ever seen, honestly, a cherry like this could make a pot of jam as well as put a smile on my face. Cherries remind me of my old neighbor Mr.Porte who passed away years ago. Mr Porte taught me about gardening plus I would pick cherries and figs from his trees and make jam. He was a clever, kind soul, person. Do you remember my stories about him? He knew Annie too. The cherries brought memories of Mr Porte and his twinkling eyes and easy smile.

Thank you for your kind thoughts yesterday xxx I feel less rattled today.

  1. Cherries always make us happy. Food does in general. Yes I remember all your stores of him and Annie. How blessed we are to have kind happy souls with twinkling eyes in our lives.

Corey, so many up and down emotions. Soon your life will get back to a routine and all will be peaceful again. Remember the Serenity prayer, change what you can and accept what you cannot change. In my family, we live in 4 different states and connect through texting and Zoom. We have happy hour each Friday and it has turned out to be such a blessing to be able to see each other and chat. Normally we spend about an hour but yesterday it was 1.5 hours. Everyone’s world has been turned upside down, but the important thing is to stay healthy. Blessings!

  3. I remember being so touched by your stories of Annie. She was and still is such a gift to you. How lovely to have had both Annie and Mr. Porte in your life…sweet memories. Thanks for sharing them with us.💕

  4. I do remember the stories of Mr Porte- didn’t you say a beautiful vegetable blessing as the handful of dirt was tossed at his burial I thought what a lovely way to be remembered life giving if you will the act of imparting knowledge to grow food which sustains- ah a big cherry there is a metaphor in there somewhere-nothing happens by chance you were meant to get the big cherry! how beautiful it looks!

  10. 😋😋😋 It’s a month I’m eating these very big cherries as I have a Fruit & vegetable shop closed to my house and as soon as I’ve seen that they had those, I’ve bought them every other day! So sweet and juicy delicious; absolutely love them!
PS: with them I’ve made a Chafloutis for the first time; a big success! 😋😋😋

  11. I do remember Mr. Porte and of course, dear Annie. Wasn’t he the person who taught you about pruning tomato plants?
