Brocante Diet

Salade 1 Euros

Months have gone by with my brocante diet fasting. I put something I had online and helped a friend sell some pieces, and well fasting no more.

As far as diets go-

Green salad is healthy.

Green beans fresh

Green beans with ginger.

Apples

Apples, meet the need for the crunch. But not when someone else is eating them.

Breakfast-counter

Melon softens the sweet tooth.

Roma tomates

Home grown tomatoes stand miles apart from store-bought in flavor. Toast with homegrown tomato and salt. Best lunch.

Strawberries-with-mint

Strawberries, are a quick fix for a snack.

But nothing can compare to the brocante diet. Nothing in my opinion.

The Brocante Diet:

Makes the heart pitter-patter which equals exercise.

I can have big doses, unmeasurable amounts, any day, anytime.

Doesn't matter the size, shape, color, taste… all of it is good.

Soothing.

Filling.

Unsatiable appetite, bottomless pit, it is a diet that allows ample room to grow.

What is your diet other than family and friends because I am talking about thing(s).

Whatever it is hold it close and thank it for feeding you.

  1. Forgive my literalness, but Farmboy Husband just picked our first four ears of sweet corn of the year tonight to steam as part of dinner (which also included fresh flat Romano green beans).
Right now our garden is yielding blueberries, tomatoes, Bell and banana peppers, Swiss chard, beets, couves (Portuguese cabbage), and zucchini. The Butternut (winter storage) squash are already the size of (American) footballs and still growing!
We are quarantining, so our outside contact is via email, and I try to write to at least one person per day whom I haven’t heard from in a while, because you never know who might enjoy a not un-cheery message (I try not to aim too high — LOL!.

  2. That last picture is a teaspoon full of brocante goodness! All auctions here have moved online and you can’t see the stuff in person. Makes it hard to want to spend. 😉

  3. Each day I bring home an abundance of blessings from the fresh summer produce grown with so much love
I love fresh food fresh from the fields and gardens.
Hugs and much love and many blessings and may each person have food to eat.
There is a great deal of people suffering around the world.
    Hugs

  4. Reading books. I devour them. Still can’t get out to antique shops in Houston because of coronavirus so I sustain on books. All variety. Just finished “Family Upstairs” by Lisa Jewell. Dark and twisted. Next I’ll go with something light. 🍷📖🍴

  5. I heartily agree with you about tomatoes on toast! At my Chicago college, I had to ask the cafeteria for a BLT without the B & L as they couldn’t figure out I just wanted tomatoes on toast! Yummmm…enjoy!

Books and reading …. can’t do without. Estate sales are just beginning to open up again, and I have been to a few, but I will be glad to get into the hunt once again. Love the fresh Georgia-grown produce, particularly the cantaloupes and tomatoes. Miss just being able to go wherever, whenever. Glad to see your “great finds” once again!
