Jeanne happy Days

I grew up in the fabulous fifties era, the happy days' era, the sweet simple times when life seemed less complicated.  My Mother and Grandmother raised us with much love with the help of many relatives.  They both began their eternal lives and I miss them more than words can say.  They are both treasured and adored in Heaven as they were on Earth.
My Sister and I are so close and reflect often on our beautiful childhood memories and treasure each memory we make today.  I am so blessed to have her as my Sister and so thankful she lives in the same city.

I live in LaSalle Ontario, just outside of Windsor Ontario.  A city I love so much.  Our city has fine citizens and we are blessed to have a country to live in such as Canada.  We were also blessed to have all the amenities of Detroit Michigan right across the Detroit River from us.  Motown Memories to last forever and Detroit was at one time a mecca for the finest shopping and stores on Woodward Avenue including Hudson Maine department store.  It was a store like no other, especially at Christmas.  Window displays that to this day I dream of.  Each week many of us would go shopping in Detroit and come back with treasures galore.

When I was 21 I married my sweetheart Robbie who grew up a few streets away from me.  He was a handsome blonde with the biggest blue eyes ever.  5 years later we were blessed with our son Justin whom we both adored.  We had many wonderful years together but sadly he began his eternal life in 1992. We miss Robbie every day and will treasure him always.

After the storm, a rainbow always appears.  God blessed me with another beautiful man who became my husband in 1994.  This time a handsome man with black hair and brown eyes.  He is an excellent father and husband.  We are a blended family of 4 children and now 6 grandchildren.  All remarkable to us.

My son and his family currently live in Vietnam and our daughter and her family in Australia. Technology is a great asset.  They visit us every 2 years.  Sadly it was missed this past summer due to covid.  Hopefully, in the summer of 2021, we will be reunited in person.

I worked for the government for the most part, but my source of pride is home life.

Some things I treasure are good books, great movies, beautiful handwritten letters, Korean stationery, great photographs, Asian silks, Asian calligraphy, lipstick, perfume, jade jewelry, great food, lattes, and caesars.
I love flowers, hummingbirds, nature, and sunshine.

" Without the soaring birds, the great forests,
the sounds and coloration of the insects, the free-flowing streams,
the flowering fields, the sight of the clouds by day and
the stars at night, we become impoverished in all that makes us human.”
— Thomas Berry

Kindness is the special art of living with a loving heart. I try and bring kindness into each day in every way I can as I know how very much it means to us all. During these dark covid times many are isolated. Just reaching out with phone calls, cards, letters, emails, smiles a kind word can make a world of difference. May God bless us and protect us all

This is a small glimpse into my world.
It has been a pleasure to share with you.
Thank you again Corey for this invitation.

Sidenote

Jeanne is one of the first people to ever read my blog and leave a comment way back in 2005. I have felt her kindness and encouraging faith throughout these many years. Jeanne often was the first person to leave a comment on my blog and I wondered how she did that?
Thank you Jeanne for being with me since day 1.
