I am SO glad you have fragrant roses that one on the right is gorgeous!
The day before my mother in law moved from her long time neighborhood she went around to each of her neighbors and asked if she could make a cutting from their rose bushes. Upon arrival to her new home she literally took a rake to the ground to make it soft than just stuck each of those stems into that raw dirt, packed it enough for them to stand, and walked away.
Decades later that rose garden blooms better than most tended by professional gardeners… and they smell amazing! It was so great to hear her ask Martha, Norene, Beth, and all the others how they were growing. The last two years of her life she was bedridden and literally could not even sit up on her own. Each day my father in law would ask her which of her “friends” she wanted to visit and then he’d go out and pick a rose from that bush for her bedside.
I love my roses!!!! Also love Penni’s post. Something about a rosarian💕
