My Brother Marty

My brothers and family

A lovely video about my brother Marty.

Yesterday Marty's body was laid to rest

My family had a private mass in our hometown

Sacha was one of the pallbearers along with other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service followed and cousins and friends were there.

My cousin Julie (Sacha's Godmother) had me on video so I could be there in spirit.

You can imagine our sadness, the grief, the tender goodbye, and also the love that holds us.

Very lovely video and tribute. Condolences to the Amaro family. Corey, take time to grieve your loss. Life is never the same for us when a loved one passes but with time, the heart heals even though the void prevails. God said, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted”. Take the higher ground and you will be comforted. When my uncle passed away, I didn’t think that life without him would be possible since we all loved him so dearly as well as my parents. But here I am, able to think about him and my parents with joyous memories. Take care, {hugs}.

  11. Dear Corey, I am so very sorry, hugs always.

  13. Chère Corey,

Stay strong, sit with your feelings and know you’re not alone.
    Agape,
    Ella

Oh Corey I feel like I’ve known you known you and your family for years. Being an only child, I really can’t imagine your family gatherings so I join yours in a virtual, imaginary way. I am so sorry for your loss. I also ache for your Mother as i understand there is no loss like the loss of a child. So glad Sacha could be there. Continued prayers of peace for you and your family, your Mother, and Marty’s family who I’ve come to know through the video. What a tribute♥️

  23. Thank you for sharing the wonderful tribute to your brother, Marty. From the photos and messages he was a devoted family man. It must have been hard not to be there in person for the funeral but such a blessing that Sacha could be. I send condolences to you and your whole family.❤️

  24. Our hearts go out to you and yours. It’s a difficult time but, you will meet him again in heaven.

  25. I’m sending up prayers for your hearts to be comforted. I have watched the video. “Take It To The Limit” is a song that means a lot to my life-long friends and I. Many of them have passed now, so when I hear that song, it brings many memories back to me with happiness and also the sadness of our last partings. It looks like your brother lived a very full life with much love and joy in his heart and in his family. I guess we can’t ask for more than that love and closeness, and I know that they remain. even after the last goodbye.

  26. Thank you for sharing a little bit of your brother Marty’s beautiful life with us. How lucky you all were to have shared it with him. Sending you peace, hugs and love.

Corey, what a beautiful tribute to your brother. How meaningful it must have been for Sasha to be pallbearer and for you to be there in video. Yours is a wonderful and caring family that is bound by the love you share in good times and difficult ones. I am glad that you were able to spend such a long period of time with your Mom in Willows last spring during the beginnings of the pandemic isolations. Being there to support her and to support Marty as he went through those months of his journey was a great benefit for all.

    Lovely and loving memories…..JP

  32. I am just now reading of your brother Marty’s passing. My deepest condolences, Corey. May the soul of this faith departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

  33. It’s been a while since I’ve checked into your blog and I see the passing of your brother. He obviously had a full life and was much loved and loved. And when it is all said and done that is the richest gift of all. In the video there is a shot of Marty as a little guy on a little riding tractor. Oh my there is a resemblance to little Gabriel. That’s how families are they carry on. What a rich heritage your family has!
I didn’t know the man but found myself crying thru most of that video and then this came to me from I Corinthians 15:55. Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh grave, where is thy victory? Because death is like a sting to the heart that words can hardly convey. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory thru the Lord Christ Jesus. When you read the whole chapter hope arises because you all will see him again! In the meantime he will be missed.
Carry on Amaro family, carry on. Continue to live life well.
Special condolences to your Mother. May she find comfort and peace in the midst of her grieving.
