What Caught Your Eye Today?

Apple-on-linen

The painter captures the moment.

Giving a glimpse of the story that unfolds before his eyes.

The small details set up the atmosphere,

a book with a page being turned,

an empty china teacup,

an apple that sits near the fold line of a crisp white linen tablecloth.

Tomorrow I will give two little portraits away and tell the story of Piglet.

If you haven't already please leave a comment or send me an email to be part of the giveaway.

What small detail caught your eye today?

Mine was a grasshopper chomping away at the zucchini plant in our courtyard.

  2. Just now, the gorgeous sunrise above the trees in the field behind our house — always takes my breath away.

  3. Yesterday I saw two lizards basking in the sun on the mossy stump of the rose bush – perfect time of year!

  4. What catches my eye at this moment is the way the morning sun plays on the hills creating shadows, the way the reflections change moment to moment in the blue of the lake, all kissed by the spring green of the hills.

The sun shining through a stained glass window and the colors reflecting onto my dog while she sat looking for squirrels.

We have a Mockingbird nest and one little one fell or flew out of the nest onto our patio a couple of days ago. Mom and dad birds are very territorial and we weren’t able to go out to our patio for a couple of days. Through our French doors, We watched little bird hop around for a few days. This morning little bird was gone and I went out looking for him, suddenly mom bird came and perched right next to me then flew to our neighbor’s tree and sat next to little bird. I was so happy little bird was still alive!

A beautiful slightly wintery sunset this evening as we went for a drive to our nearby seaside to walk the dog. We are just heading in to winter here in NZ so the nights are closing in, but tonight the sky was glowing and it was a lovely sight to see….(I will send an image of that view via email as not sure how I might show you otherwise!).
