Life is Good

Chelsea is four months along, at first she didn't feel so good but the second trimester is proving easier.

Gabriel kisses her tummy with tenderness, and baby kisses bring such sweetness.

We are over the moon and back with excitement good news is welcomed anytime, and especially this year.

I only wish my mother could see Gabriel more often and be here to witness the birth. Unfortunately, that is one of

the disadvantages of my living in another country. Separation of celebrations.

What good news have you this year?

Soon France will not be in a lockdown… it feels odd and joyous mixed with

doubt and hope.

I have had my first vaccine, without a hitch, and the second one is on the 17th.

Since September I have had a cold / the flu more than ever before … I think at least five times!

I took the covid test each time, but it was always negative. I had a blood test too, to be sure I never had it.

Finally, after the longest greyest winter and the beginning of spring, I think we have passed the threshold to softer weather.

Our flowers are blooming and survived a downpour last weekend, even the irises braved through it!

Kate won four awards at the FFA

Future Farmers of America ceremony.

  1. Maybe for your new grandbaby’s birth, your mom can visit you in France. Or a few months after? Yes, it seems that the pandemic is close to ending here in CA also. Yet people are still getting seriously ill with it so I’m not ready to celebrate quite yet. It’s odd that you’ve had the flu so many times with all the mask wearing etc.

  2. Warren? The last photo I saw he was just a little kid! Congratulations Kate! Your mom is stunning!

    Chère Corey,
As always, your wonderful words will us into better spirits. Félicitations on Gabriel being a big brother, he’ll be brilliant.
Yes, the last year or so has been one for the record books, but perhaps our lessons of hope and endurance will remain with us always. Your excellent examples have certainly helped me and many others survive.
Stay safe, Simone (some photos will appear Wednesday once her puppy parent, aka, my superstar spouse, knows she’s part of the family!) and I will return to the US for a few weeks after 10 months away. We will continue to enjoy your blog and the wonderful community you have created.
    Bonne fin de semaine,
    Ella

  4. I love seeing all the photographs and hearing of your news always.
    Blessings for all the family.
    Much love always

Good to “feel” you happy again. Your Mom is looking pretty chipper. She should fly over to France as soon as it’s safe.

I’m so glad you have your first dose of the vaccine.
I just received my first jab on Wednesday. I’m thrilled and thankful!
It’s been a chilly spring here, too – thankfully, the weather seems to be improving for us this weekend.
BTW, your dear mother looks wonderful!
    Enjoy your weekend, Corey.

  7. Love, love your good news!
Love seeing your mom with her grands.
Now you have me thinking about “good news”.
Still thinking! No, grands coming, but maybe
a trip. Oh how I hope a trip is coming.
