Dear Mom,
Witty, generous, faithful, constant … soft heart but strong.
Breakfast, lunch, a "treat" at four, and dinner was made with a homemade dessert,
Our home was full of your creative touches and flowers from the garden were on the table,
There were a variety of homemade cookies in the bottomless cookie jar
our sheets were washed, then hung to dry outside, ironed, and placed back on our beds weekly,
We had our Sunday best and arrived fifteen minutes early to morning mass,
You raised us with tangible love and a sense of right and wrong,
We learned to jitterbug in the kitchen,
You played games with us and taught us the importance of team spirit plus gave us the drive to win,
yet we never managed to cheat at cards as well as you.
