Wallpaper Adventure Number 10000000000000000 (Maybe minus a bunch of zeros)

A rainy day, more or less the entire day,

gave me permission to stay indoors and dive into a long-awaited project giving it chance to become.

I had two more walls to wallpaper .

Those of you who have been reading this blog as long as I have been writing it know I have a thing

for patchwork wallpapering.

Yes, I had a sturdy ladder! I fell off once, shattered my wrist, and am still paying the price.

Yes, I copied all the old papers I wanted to use.

Because twice (Yes, because I am a slow learner.),

I glued original antique papers that later I found out were worth several hundred euros so

now when I look at them I see Euros glued to the wall.

Oh, and I stopped before midnight.

Tomorrow it should be completed.

My phone is covered in glue, my arms feel like they are going to fall off and I might have glued bits of scraps to the floor.

A good healthy distraction.

And any of you, my husband included who think that this is the last wall

I will wallpaper… well I know you know that is simply not true.

I think this is such a good idea! I know how hard it is, but so rewarding.

Happy Wallpapering! My husband and I tried to wallpaper once. Due to the disaster and arguments, we have NEVER wallpapered again in our 50 years of marriage and 5 different houses.

Corey – if they turn out anything like your other walls they will be stunning! Please show pictures of your artistic talent. When all is said and done and your phone is unglued – the floor is cleaned and you’ve had time to rest your arm – won’t you be happy and proud?!

  13. I have an entire hallway wall that is “papered” though not with wallpaper or anything glued to the wall. I saved images for 40 years or more and finally took them out of my old handwritten journals and binders to put them where I could see them every day. I glued them to bristol board, painted over them with decoupage “glue” (? so they’d be wipeable) and tacked the whole all the bristol boards to the wall.
And I haven’t stopped there. I keep collecting images I like. And I want them where I can see them.
One might call what I do “collage,” but there is no artistic theme or story. I can hardly bear, when placing the images, to cover even a corner of an image I love.
Anyhoo. I’m not an artist, but I appreciate the art of others.
