Breakfast at Ching’s

breakfast in France

Breakfast at Ching's (my friend who I met on my blog ten or is it twelve years ago) in Cassis with her beautiful collection of dishes from our friend Mo.

melon and croissants

The sweetest melon from the market in Cassis, croissants, pain au chocolate, fresh soft cheese, and jams.

Yes, they were buttery, flakey, fresh from the baker's oven which is directly downstairs from Ching's apartment.

Cassis market is every Tuesday and Friday mornings early until noonish.

The cheese stand a favorite and has been there for years.

Ching took this photo of us, sure I who rarely like to be in photos am challenging myself to be in a photo on my blog once a week.

We will see how long that lasts.

Thank you Ching for the lovely breakfast!

You look great! Love your smile.
And the breakfast looks amazing, too ❤

  4. I agreed with Jeanne’s comment I rarely make a comment, but I always read your blog, been following it for a long time… . and I am delighted that you will show more of yourself.. You have a smile that can light up a dark room and you radiate a inner beauty that very few people have.. Yes “Lucky and Blessed are you and yours”

Well I can sympathise with your lack of interest in being in photos. I don’t warm to the idea, never have, I prefer to photo others and the things around me….I know what I look like and don’t need to see ME in photos. Having said that, you do have a radiating high wattage smile and it is nice to see you in the context of your stories especially with that humming hunk of a husband of yours as well! Cheers from NZ. 6. Hello lovely Corey!!
That’s my idea of a wonderful breakfast. Yes the market in Cassis is special. We used to go once in a while on Friday.
There was always lunch to look forward to….trying a different cafe/restaurant. Which are your favourites?

I have a similar dislike of photos of myself, and I rarely take them or post them. Then my daughter-in-law started taking photos of me with her children and (even though I still hate seeing myself) I am so glad to have these photos…it gives me such a rush of love for the moment that was captured. ( I don’t post them when they show the kid’s faces, though )
I am always so happy to see you, thank you for including a weekly photo.
Is this the apartment you designed? What a great project that was!

  10. Friend, youu take wonderful photos! On the other hand, you could get comments like this one people make as they look at me in the picture…
“Looks like you have been drinking.” No, it just happens in posed photos. Catch me in a candid shot. It’s always a better result! 🤪

Love the picture of you and Yann. You both look well. Wish I had a set of Mo’s dishes. Just have to enjoy the little pieces I do have. That looks like a wonderful breakfast.

  12. Yummy! Love the look of the food on the table and the beautiful flowers. You and Yann take gorgeous photos so don’t shy away from pictures of the both of you enjoying life. Here’s to gorgeous breakfasts any day of the week! Cheers!

oh! I just realized that I said I rarely posted photos of myself, and then I remembered all my costume selfies. Funny how I don’t really count those as photos of myself! I think of those as costumes, therefore not of me….funny, right?

Vous êtes beaux et vous me manquez!!

  15. Lovely in so many ways from
seeing you to the delicious food
on the table. I know what you mean,
it is hard to remember to show ourselves
in pictures. You do share your heart
    in your writing though.
