Look What the Neighbors are Throwing Out

Look What the Neighbors are Throwing Out

Okay, from now on I am going to post things that I see people are throwing out on the street.

Hence, the title "Look what my Neighbors are throwing out."

Spotted these on the street in Paris.

Mid-century reproduction of the classic frog chairs, yes that is what they are called:

"Fauteuil Crapaud"

usually, the feet are not seen as fabric or passementerie hangs from the seat to the floor… but these are not the real deal.

XIX Louis Philippe Style.

Short legs, large back known for comfort.

It appears that their cat loved them to death.

  1. Can’t it be reupholstered?

  2. They could be quite beautiful if reupholstered.
I would have a hard time passing them by.

  3. I once sublet an apartment from a man who had a cat. It included the furniture which included two barrel chairs. When I first saw the chairs I thought they had shag carpeting for upholstery. No, the cats had shredded them.

  4. I used to have dreams about finding “treasures” people threw out. I still vividly remember one when I was a kid. That was a along time ago. The search for aging fancies is well ingrained. Still dreaming, but with eyes wide open!

They would be a fun thing to salvage.

  6. I’m afraid I couldn’t pass them up! I bet reupholstered they would be charming!

Both an informative and amusing post.
    Thank you for the smile

  8. These will be interesting posts. The chairs could be quite nice redone. I guess we’d call them slipper chairs?
