Today at an auction house I spotted this painting, or I should say I spotted the detail that I liked about the painting… The ribbon on the foot. For me just painting the foot with a rivet would have been enough.

The ribbon shoe on her foot.

Later when I posted this painting to my Instagram “gotta be me” a blog reader added this comment which made me laugh out loud!

How true! Who takes their shoes off last?
Even back then they were editing their moments to share to the world. Details matter which usually let’s you see more than just what is at hand.

At least they weren’t 6″ heels…….that would be a whole different type of art.

  5. LOL…I don’t know, but I’m guessing they’re getting dressed after bathing? They’re at the early 19th century outdoor day spa.
