Brocante Finds

The brocante let me count the ways of how much I love it.

1) The culture, history, and the stories that are theirs and shared among the dealers.

2) The quality of the objects, the workmanship how, they were made and kept through generations.

3) Each piece is unique. Mostly, one-of-a-kind type of pieces. Certainly not mass-produced.

4) The hunt, the joy of finding and sharing.

5) Creating a home with brocante finds.

6) The people I meet at the brocantes.

Okay, those are some of the reasons why I love the brocante.

All the pieces in this photo were found at the brocante. The newest find is the hand-painted, long and narrow,

canvas-backed painting. It was part of the exterior (under glass) decor for a bakery.

The pieces are from the 1900s.

The littlest detail is a piece of silver thread altar lace.

The snowdrops plants in that painting! And the absolutely gorgeous bust of the woman! Be still my heart. “These are a few of my favorite things…”. I would have bought those items at the brocante in a heartbeat.
