My husband is retired. I still work as an Exec in a large medical research facility. After being bombarded all day with emails and solving problems, my husband would want to talk my ear off. I explained to him that I just needed silence. So now we sit together and read for about half an hour before we make dinner and talk about our day. Silence is very healing.
