raise the curtain

Peace, Bring it On!

Give peace a chance.

Love one another intensely, loudly, boldly.

We are more than religion, the color of our skin, or birthplace; we are blood and spirit.

Let us lay down our weapons, our rhetoric, politics, or beliefs about who is right or wrong.

And top pointing fingers, words, missiles, hatred… that ugly darkness that never brings good.

This world is not about hatred but about life, a generous flow of energy.

We must listen to the conversation and feel the narrative of both sides of the stories around us.

At the root, it is our story of humanity to live and love.

We have more living and more loving to do.

We must learn to live and love in peace with one another against whatever odds.

Enough is enough is enough.

When will we learn that violence seeds violence?

Let's be the example, set the stage, extend forgiveness, and take the lead.

The world feels like it is cracking; it saddens me. I am sorry I sound preachy. My blog posts are about how I feel, what I need to be, and how to be a better person. Sometimes, I write thinking one day my grandchildren or great-grandchildren will read my blog, and I want it to show them who I am and want to be and that I was more about loving than the brocante.

Beautifully said, with great meaning, straight from your heart. I was wondering this first week of Advent what Jesus would think of our world if he walked amongst us? I think he would cry with the innocent victims of war and the carnage happening.

  2. Dear Corey, in history, I think the times of complete peace are fewer than the times in which there was some sort of conflict going on. I agree that the Palestine situation is tragic, but I take heart in the fact that there is no World War or Vietnam/Cambodia going on. I was almost drafted for that mess. My family lived in Iran as Americans during the lead up to the 1979 Revolution, so I saw all that craziness. The best we can hope for is peace in our corner of the world and loving and helping those who are in harm’s way in a non-peaceful environment. This boils down to bloom where planted, a phrase you introduced me to and that I quote often.

  3. Blessed are the peacemakers for they will called children of God. Corey, you shine a light …..

  4. Preachy is OK and very much needed.
I have been appreciating your comments about Palestine on Facebook too.
