One Word Seed Affirmation

becoming seeds of peace

Have you ever been given a seed affirmation?
A seed affirmation is when you or someone says something; we feel it take root and grow inside us as a truth.
The one-word seed affirmation sets a wave of transformation within us.

What will your seed affirmation word be for others?
What seed affirmation word will you give yourself?

Last year, my word was HEALTH,
as I had a challenging year in 2022, discovering that I had chronic asthma.
I planted my word as a reminder to care for myself, respect my limitations, and care for my physical well-being.

This year, my word will be PEACE.
To be the peace I seek in myself, my actions, words, and beyond.
It is believing that being a source of peace for others starts with cultivating inner peace within myself.
It's a journey that involves taking care of my physical, emotional, and mental health, practicing mindfulness and self-reflection, and developing healthy coping tools for stress and anxiety.

____

When we create a ripe garden of inner peace, that peace is extended through acts of kindness, compassion, and understanding. Peace is about being present and fully engaged in the lives of those around us, actively listening, offering support and encouragement, and practicing forgiveness and empathy.

By embodying these qualities and being a positive presence in the lives of others, we help create a more peaceful and harmonious world. It's not just about us as individuals but about the impact we can make on our communities and the world around us.

My path ahead is steep I hope to progress steadily. I might not reach the summit, but I am determined to make a difference in my efforts to get there.

  1. I had never heard it called seed affirmation, but that is a good way of describing the word for the year. Best wishes for embracing your word of Peace. That will be a challenging one.

  2. That’s a good one. I’ll be reminded every time I come to your webpage or see you online elsewhere. -Kate

  3. Kindness and love I chose 2 seed affirmations. I believe everyone could benefit from both

  4. I had never heard of this, but want to adopt the idea and your word, peace. It’s so easy to go out in the culture/world/ right now and forget kindness, compassion, and understanding. Thank you for this post.

  5. I met your cousin Ginny Clarke in her store on Mercer Island. I have been there twice and both times ended up having an hour long conversation rich with stories of travel and our connections with people. She told me about your travel adventures you arrange with small groups visiting thrift stores, finding little treasure and getting to know the area and its people. This brought me to your site and I came upon your idea of a seed and the word that is your seed for the year. I loved it!! This piece really spoke to me and I thank you for it. My book club gets together at a cabin once a year and it happens to be this Sat. I am going to share this piece of writing with them. Such a lovely practice. Thank you and I hope to learn more about the adventures you create and perhaps one day I can take part. 🙏🏻❣️Ellen
