Time For Equality and Justice for All

Most things take time.

Which is easily forgotten-

with cell phones, computers, internet, google, Amazon, transportation-

Life seems to be at our fingertips.

Whatever we want when we want it- click, snap, instant credit-

Such daily life routines, which used to be hours' worth of labor, are readily available without too much notice.

Time ticks on without us having to wind the clock-

Running water- cold, warm, or hot?

Need a light-

Warm home-

Gas, electricity,

Dry hair-

Abundance,

Security…

Buy some bananas, tea, and avocados in a place that doesn't produce such things-

or having strawberries, tomatoes, or zucchini out of season.

A friend said,

"How many hands did it take to bring me this?"

Has time lost meaning?

Are we numb to the reality of having it all when we want it and the lack of equality it brings to many in the world?

One mind is to take what’s available for granted. Another is to take everything as nothing less than a miracle.
The privilege of buying an apple from the store is one thing, but eating it without thought to fill my belly is another. Growing an apple takes years and a lot of acquired knowledge, resulting in it being eaten with great appreciation.
Can we take proper care for all involved in the things in our lives?

  2. As we are about to embark on a threshold of a New Year let us all be aware of how valuable our time is on this earth. As we age time rapidly goes by. We must treasure our time and how we use it wisely

  3. Bonjour à tous,
Thank you Corey, et al, for being a community that not only appreciates antiques but has the wisdom and depth of soul to discuss such meaningful topics, ones that relate to world events. No matter which continent I am on, these interactions are some of the first words I see daily.
My appreciation to everyone; I am confident that our words are a result of huge hearts, which take mindful action. Together we will continue to add more happiness to the world, one word/thought at a time.
Here’s to wonderful 2024 and perhaps meeting you Corey; remember, Nice’s Monday market (brocante) is delightful!
    Paix à tout le monde,
    Ella

  4. This is a profound message. Time passes so quickly. I am 81 and very aware of the passage of time and the need to make every moment one to savor and make it count. I don’t have time to squander a minute.
