This year comes to an ends, and another arrives –
twilight's theatre brings a colorful sky, and the moonrise adds sparkle to unseen corners
If only at that moment I could bring
a song that the world could dance to,
and
long tables with unending platters of pomegranates, paelle, pani puri, plantains
and plenty of other plates that I do not know their
names, but when I taste them, I savor the recipes,
And comfortable chairs that circle around
and conversations spiced with laughter, understanding, and compassion
where we witness babies in the laps of their grandparents and children running around,
and people falling in love as their feet touch under the table.
Under a sky of blue and twinkling stars,
A never-ending cycle of earthly harmony.
Damn that would be nice.
