Those French Cookies

m

My niece Maci and I are making macaroons.

The first attempt at making them was a sweet, delicious challenge.

The macaroons were not perfect, though the French lemon butter cream was worth the pounds gained.

We are trying again this evening.

Round two.

I will let you know if we perfect the foot.

Do you have any trade secrets to share? We have heard many but still have to fine-tune our efforts.

  1. Good luck with the cookies
Such sweet memories you are all making
    Thanks for all you share

  2. You live in France. It’s macaron, isn’t it? Unless you’re making those gooey coconut things called macaroons. Oh, wait. You’re not trying to make a French President are you? (My apologies in advance for being such a smartass.)

  3. Ah, at first I thought you were making coconut macaroons, but I see you are making the French ones cut in half with filling. I love those.
We have a cafe nearby that makes them with creative flavors like salted caramel and earl grey:

Wishing you success on round two!

  4. It doesn’t matter how they turn out, what matters are the lovely memories created and the laughter.

  5. Once you’ve mastered French macarons, you’ll be ready to try making these Italian treats!
